Video Product Demonstrations

In 1996 I was offered a position as a presenter on Australia’s home shopping network TVSN. Over the next 3 years I amassed over 1,000 hours of live TV experience demonstrating everything from cooking equipment, small appliances, power tools, collectible teddy bears and dolls, jewellery, books, cosmetics and skin care, fashion, electronics and gadgets, computer, you name it, I’ve demonstrated and sold it.

As you might imagine, the ability to demonstrate a product, outlining it’s features and benefits as well as weave interesting information and stories into the conversation at the same time a director and/or producer is talking to you via an IFB (a special intercom circuit that consists of a program feed sent to an earpiece worn by talent via a wire, telephone, or radio receiver (audio that is being “fed back” to talent) that can be interrupted and replaced by a television producer’s or director’s intercom microphone) isn’t a simple exercise.

If you saw the episode of the Australian version of The Apprentice where the contestants were given the task of demonstrating a product with the intention of selling it for 5-10 minutes on TVSN, you’ll understand what I mean.

Well, I actually became very good at it (must be my ability to talk under water coupled with my insatiable appetite for knowledge and learning) and consequently honed my demonstrating and sales skills quite well.

Using these skills, my ability to learn fast and my on camera expertise, I can create, present and edit for you a demonstration video for any product you might have that you can upload to your website to educate your clients, customers and potential customers about your product or service.

I have three HD video cameras to capture different product or presenter angles and the skills and expertise to get whatever information you want across in the demonstration so that your product is showcased exactly how you envisage.

Vision can be shot at your office or premises, or, less expensive is sending me the product and the product information and I shoot it for you in my studio and provide you with the footage if you want to edit yourself or have your own suppliers do it, or I can provide you with a fully edited video in whatever format you require.

The videos can be adlib (much like the home shopping segments are) or they can be edited into 30 second, 60 second or longer videos. Adlib videos are quicker and less expensive to produce, short 30 and 60 second scripted segments require multiple shots and considerably more editing to achieve a succinct delivery in the time frame.

What you choose will depend on your budget and objectives.

The following links will show you examples of short scripted segments and an adlib video with a presenter.

I can also create software and website instructional and tutorial videos such as how to perform a particular task on a website, what a website has to offer, how to login, how to do just about anything on a computer. Here’s a few examples I’ve done for clients. These links will take you to the videos on the clients site, please just click the BACK button on your browser to return to victoriahansen.com.

The fees I charge for demonstration videos include my time to learn the features and benefits of your product or service, familiarise myself with its operation or structure, prepare a basic format for the video for you to approve before I shoot it, and the shooting, editing and mastering of the video.
